The Kaligwa School Project The Kaligwa School Project

We are proud to begin our first project, the construction of a secondary school at the village of Kaligwa in the Mpigi District of Uganda.

The first component of the Kaligwa campus will be a clinic and community center where we will provide our neighbors with free medical care, meeting and worship space. It will be located at the entrance of the village making it readily accessible for those traveling long distances. The clinic will be built in memory of Rex D. Shaver, a longtime elder at Mt. Rainier Christian Church in Mt. Rainier, Maryland. Mr. Shaver actively worked to mold the lives of young people and encourage their education. His life was one of great strength and compassion.

The second component of the campus will be the school's classrooms, dormitories, chapel and library. These buildings will be located on a hilltop overlooking the village. We have acquired land and local government approval to begin construction and we hope to break ground in 2009.

We were honored to obtained approval from three levels of local government. (Pictured Above)
